Synergy Bariatrics is pleased to announce its preferred provider status for Ontario residents who seek weight loss surgery in the US. Through our relationship with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Ontario residents may apply for complete coverage of bariatric surgery and related pre and post-operative care.

Once you receive prior approval from the Ministry, our new patient liason will contact you with instructions. There is an information seminar online for you to complete, as well as our patient registration packet. Once these requirements have been met, you will see one of our surgeons in consultation to discuss your candidacy for one of the surgical procedures we offer.

This process is relatively easy and quick. There is essentially no wait time to schedule an appointment and once you are ready to proceed, you may have surgery in as little as 6 weeks from the time of your consultation with us.

The Ministry mandates that all standard and special pre-operative tests required prior to surgery be performed in Ontario. We will give you more specific information about these tests and help you coordinate them after your initial appointment.
